The Register points us to a worldwide survey of how people carry their phones - which is pretty interesting stuff to us, given that we have a store that sells cases here. Apparently the right-front pocket is the main spot for guys (I'm a left-front man myself, probably because I'm still thinking somewhere in my lizard brain that I need my right hand for stylus work), while purses rule for the ladies. Also interesting is that guys are more likely to use a belt solution the older they get.
60% of men sampled carried their mobile phone in their trouser pockets, and of these most carried them in front right trouser pockets - positioned to be reachable by their dominant (right) hand. 61% of women sampled carried their mobile phone in a bag usually a hand bag
