After I pulled the case out of the box I sat for a minute and took a long hard look at it and man it’s a beauty. The Swiss Mobility Legion is sporting a black on black design that really makes the 100% hand stitching stick out. Inside the case you will find soft nylon and Swiss Mobility logos. The inside seems smooth enough to prevent scratches, yet durable for everyday use.
The case has a plastic clip on the out side allowing you to hook it on to your belt. The clip is mainly plastic as I did not see any metal backing. Along the top there are two magnetic flaps that hold the wallet portion in place. The feel is leathery and relatively big. Its was more than a handful. The magnetic straps made it hard for me to use at times because of how small they were. While out and about I would have to fiddle with the straps to get them back in place after using my credit cards. Unfortunately it is not a swivel case, but with its size I think the horizontal position is best for it.
Inside the first compartment with the double clips has a see through sleeve specifically designed for your driver’s license. Behind that are two more slots to fit credit or membership cards. These slots seemed very tight . This posed a small problem when I would struggle to get my cards in and out. Below these slots is a sort of hidden compartment that can be used to hide money. On the opposite side of these slots is another pocket that is a great spot for business cards or movie tickets
The main pouch is big enough to hold my Treo 750 with a regular and an extended battery. The case has a very strong magnetic latch that holds the phone in place. Although a very good flap, the flap its self seems a bit large. A standard single band strap would do just fine.
The case does its job and allows you to leave your wallet at home. It provides a great convenience of having a case and wallet in one. The “Darn I forgot my wallet” days are over thanks to the Swiss Mobility Legion case. I love this idea because more often then not you leave your wallet behind and not your phone. Now with your phone comes your wallet, credit cards, and cash. I like the design and the black on black is a great look no matter what your wearing.
The quality overall is very good. I tested by the usual bumps into the walls and dropping it on the pavement occasionally. These bumps and drops were not planned so it was a good test to see how it held up in normal everyday use. The drops came in more frequent than the bumping only because of its clip. Although it’s long enough, it doesn’t seem tight enough to hold it to the belt. For example, I was dancing at a party having a good time when all the sudden I looked down only to see my case on the floor. This is not good considering anyone could have swooped in on it without me ever knowing. Also at times I would be getting out of my car and my case would stay behind because it fell out when opening my door. This shows that the clip isn’t one of its strong points and needs some tightening. Overall, this is a pretty smart and well designed case. I like the idea here but there are little tune ups that could make this case a real tool.
