Palm's ROM Follies

My duties there have mostly been relegated to the TreoCast The biggest deal is the addition of A2DP, though that couldn’t have been that hard since people have been hacking it onto the 700wx for awhile now. TreoCentral forum member hannip posted a download for Sprint 700w/wx users back in February and made lots of Treo owners very happy.

All hail hannip (with some help from dimitri), a forum member of TreoCentral/WMExpert's forums! He posted a patch for you Treo 700wx users (Including you new Verizon folks) that enables A2DP stereo bluetooth headset support. Be sure to read through the entire thread, especially this post that details upping the quality of the sound.

Treo 700wx Now Available on Verizon

As expected, Palm released the Treo 700wx on Verizon's network today, at long last righting the wrong that was the Treo 700w. A brief look at the press release indicates that it's identical in every way to Sprint's 700wx (namely, it's Windows Mobile 5, EVDO but not Rev A, and has some of Palm's enhancements but lacks threaded text messaging). Pricing is inline with what we've come to expect too.

Verizon to Release 700wx on Feb 20?

We knew this was coming soon, as the 700wx recently appeared on a rebate form Details are now starting to filter in on just how Verizon intends to right Palm’s wrongs, scheduling its own 700wx for a February 20 release date. Sticker shock will be in full effect here: $620 at retail, $450 with a one-year agreement, $400 if you relent to a second year, though an additional $100 rebate makes it all a little easier to bear.

Treo 700wx Appears on Verizon Rebate Form

The TreoCentral Forums (partially shared with our own, by the way), has always been the place to check out for I must say that I said no way they were just pulling our legs….so I bought a 700w last week for work (I prefer the 700p for work they wanted me to have a 700w)So I went to submit my rebate online about 10 minutes ago and look at what I see Read: Treo 700 WX for Verizon!!!!

Alltel Gets Palm Treo 700wx, with WM 5.2?

Looks like alltell is getting the 700wx and they’re selling it for a decent price, $349.99 after rebates and contract agreement and suchlike. They’re listing it as having Windows Mobile 5.2 Pocket PC Edition, which is either a big old slap in the face to Palm’s other WM-Treo-Toters or a mistake (perhaps a mistaken refere .
