Yahoo Mail’s new interface is finally out of beta and they’ve added a nice little bonus: Free SMS in the US, Canada, India, and the Philippines: The main addition of the new version which we care about is the ability to send free text messages to any mobile phone number in the US, Canada, India and the Philippines.... Mail, and all you have to do is enter a mobile phone number into the “To:” field, type your text message and hit sent.

I’ve complained more than once that Yahoo Go’s compatibility with Windows Mobile devices has been, well, nonexistent since they moved to their fancy new Beta. Well they’re finally starting to remedy that, as it’s looking like their WM Phone Selection page now no longer says “Coming soon” on every last Windows Mobile device.

The surprise of the day was stumbling upon the UBiQUiO (Seriously, that's how they want you to do the capitalized and non-capitalized letters) devices. They're full Pocket-PC smartphone (touchscreen and all) available in unlocked GSM versions from Mobile Planet and originally made by a unnamed Taiwanese manufacturer. But if all those sketchy details don't bother you, the price for the upcoming Ubiquio 503 might: $650 for the unlocked version, available in June.

When Yahoo Go Beta was released last year for Windows Mobile devices, I was pretty jazzed up about it. It basically offered quick and easy push email as well was calendar and contacts sync to your average Joe-Consumer
